In 2002 OJSC “Surgutneftegas” implemented 945 innovation proposals, which resulted in the total savings of RUR 192.602 mn. All that was possible thanks to 1,158 experts from 50 structural units of the Company and the adequate incentive scheme for the best divisions and experts, which was adopted by the Company.

The best results in terms of cost savings (RUR 33 mn) were achieved by “Surgutneftedorstroyremont” Trust: its experts developed and implemented new recycling highway construction technologies (oil asphalt slag base stabilization). Cost savings due to implementation of innovation proposals in two other leading divisions – Surgutskoye UBR-1 (Surgut Division of Drilling Operations No. 1) and NGDU “Komsomolskneft” (Oil and Gas Producing Division “Komsomolskneft”) – amounted to RUR 20 mn and RUR 9 mn, respectively.
