AO MOSENERGO and Hoppecke Batterien will launch at CRMP, an AO MOSENERGO division, a production line for industrial lead acid batteries which can be used for various purposes.

These batteries can be used at power stations (including nuclear stations), electric substations, signal and control systems. The use of these systems makes it possible to stabilize voltage, especially in cases of high discharge of electricity

Before this project, such batteries were not produced in Russia. Utilities, communication transportation and aerospace companies purchases these abroad. As a result, they faced problems in servicing them and paying high prices for equipment.

Batteries produced by CRMP will cost less. In addition, Hoppecke Batterien will service product manufactured in Russia. CRMP plans to produce 10-55 batteries a year. However, according to Aleksei Karev, the potential capacity of the plant will be significantly higher.

In addition to AO MOSENERGO's needs, the battery production will meet high demand from other power utilities, communication, aviation, and transportation companies, Karev said.

On December 19, the CRMP will hold a presentation of the first battery produced at the plant. This battery will be later installed at AO MOSENERGO's TEZ-23. The ceremony will be attended by AO MOSENERGO's acting general director Arkady Yevstafyev and Klaus Zoellner, general director of Hoppecke Batterien. Invitations to attend this ceremony have been sent to the management of Centerenergo, RAO UES, KAMAZ, the Association "Aerospace for Mankind" and a number of other companies.
