On Thursday, August 29, AO MOSENERGO will suspend power supply to OAO NII Power Facilities, ZAO Furniture Association Moscow and GSK Transmil because the Moscow Channel continues to delay payments both for current consumption and last year debt. Currently, the Moscow Channel's debt to AO MOSENERGO amounts to 107 million rubles. In recent months, as Moscow Channel debt grew, power supply to this company could not be cut off due to existing legal restrictions.
Moscow Channel grids feed 47 sub-customers including major companies and populated areas, which consume 23% of its power. To bring pressure to bear on the debtor, AO MOSENERGO cut power supply to several of Dmitrov's municipal facilities. The power cut-off at Dmitrov Plant MZhBKh, Dmitrov Excavator Plant and OAO Rosinka, which was scheduled for August 22, did not take place due to the fact that AO MOSENERGO'S inspector were not allowed access to the electric equipment installed at these facilities.
On August 28, one day before another power cut-off at Moscow Channel sub-customers, AO MOSENERGO representatives plan to hold one more meeting with Moscow Channel management to discuss the problem of debt payments. AO MOSENERGO is also preparing a letter to the Ministry of Transportation asking for assistance in resolving this problem.
