At April 2nd was signed the contract between FESCO and shipbuilding dockyard Stocznia Szczecinska Nowa in Shetzin (Poland) on building of two container ships with tonnage 1730 TEU. Besides two denoted container ships was drawn up the right of building third ship which should presented to the dock-yard before the 15 of Febuary, 2005. The first ships should enter into exploitation at the end of 2007, third - at the beginning of 2008.
As for Chinese container ships, they could transport a large quantity of cargoes in refrigerator containers, so as they will be fitted out with electric power installation.
“The yard, with which we work, has hoarded a large experience of building container with necessary for us specification. Moreover the specification was developed by German designers and shipbuildings, and Chinese yard is used only as an instrument for realization of project”, - said the General Director of FESCO Evgeniy Ambrosov. FESCO also considers matter of buying on the second-hand market two bulkers. We rely on to use them as for transporting foreign charters and as in export foreign transporting from Far East ports. Generally in this year FESCO planning to spend on renewal of fleet from 40 - 50 million dollars of own assets. Hereby the common capacity of investments will be approximately 200 million dollars.
