Saratov Distribution Grids, a branch of IDGC of Volga JSC (subsidiary of OAO Rosseti) continues construction of new communication lines. Fiber optic communication line stretches towards 110 kV substations “Petrovsk”, “Gazovaya”, “Gremyachka”, “Ozerki”. This line and upgraded teleautomatics together made it possible to create digital channels to transmit telemetry information to Saratov Regional Dispatch Management (a branch of SO UES, JSC), Grid Control Center of Saratov Distribution Grids, Central Production Department of the branch, Petrovsky district of electrical grids (RES). Construction of backbone communication line section along Privolzhskoye Production Department – Marksovsky RES – Podlesnovsky area of distribution grids have been completed. This enables to create the multiservice digital communication with the following substations of 110 kV: “Marks”, “Borodaevka”, “Podlesnoye”, “Vostok”, “Novaya”, “Khimicheskaya”, “Saratovka-1”, Marksovsky RES and Podlesnovsky area of distribution grids. Reliable operation of a data collection and communication system results in enhancement of operational and process control of power grids. This will further enable to improve the reliability of power supply for the consumers, reduce the technological failure response time, and enhance the quality of electrical power. New fiber optic communication lines will be a part of multiservice digital communication network which is being created. Using this network will enable the company to cut expenses for leasing the communication channels from third-party providers, contribute to the higher information security, and ensure operation of corporate communication facilities. Fiber optics seems to be the best option for the ever-growing information traffic.
