On meeting with executive branch leaders of Russian Federation constituents

The Gazprom Headquarters hosted today an annual meeting with the executive branch leadership of the Russian Federation constituents.

Participating at the meeting were Valery Golubev, Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, Viktor Ilyushin, Member of the Gazprom Management Committee, Head of the Gazprom Department for the Relationships with Regional Authorities of the Russian Federation, top executives of Mezhregiongaz, heads of 12 Russian constituents, deputies of the State Duma, and representatives of the Russian Federation Presidential Executive Office.

In his opening speech Valery Golubev highly appreciated the role of regions while preparing Gazprom’s major promising projects. These include: gasification of Russian regions, development of the Yamal Peninsula, Eastern Siberia and the Far East fields, construction of the Gryazovets – Vyborg gas pipeline.

In the course of the meeting the parties addressed development prospects of gas sector in Russian regions. Special attention was paid to the issues related to the domestic pricing mechanism, energy saving, deepening interaction between Gazprom and regional administrations of the Russian Federation while the execution of the Gasification Program for the Russian Federation regions in 2008.

The participants visited Gazprom’s key production structure, the Central Gas Flow Dispatching Department.

At the final phase of the meeting the executive branch leaders of Russia’s constituents will pay a visit to traditional gas production areas between 27 and 29 of March. The meeting participants will get acquainted with production facilities of Gazprom dobycha Yamburg and Gazprom dobycha Nadym as well as social and cultural facilities erected by Gazprom in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District.

As at March 1, 2008 Gazprom entered into Agreements of cooperation with 79 regions of the Russian Federation. Preparatory work is currently underway to signing Agreements of cooperation with two more Russian Federation constituents.

Gazprom now supplies gas to the consumers of 65 Russian Federation constituents. Current gas deliveries in 2007 were paid up at 99.8 per cent. During 2007 gas debt of the Russian Federation consumers to Gazprom was reduced by RUR 9 bln to RUR 17.4 bln (as at January 1, 2008).
