Saratov Distribution Grids, a branch of IDGC of Volga, PJSC is ready for winter

The preparedness of Saratov Distribution Grids, a branch of IDGC of Volga, PJSC (a member of Rosseti Group) for operations in autumn-winter was inspected by special Expert Commission. The Commission was comprised of representatives of Ministry of Industry and Energy of the Saratov region, Rostekhnadzor, Main Directorate of Emercom of Russia for the Saratov region, Saratov RDU (distribution zone), a branch of SO UES, JSC.

 In accordance with the findings, the Commission took a positive decision on readiness of Saratov DG for operation during autumn and winter peak load period (AWP). The Commission noted that the branch has fully implemented all the measures concerning AWP. Repair Program was implemented in accordance with the Time Schedule, including clearing and extension of the strips of land under and adjacent to the high-voltage transmission lines (vegetation management). The strips of land under and adjacent to the high-voltage transmission lines are brought into compliance with the requirements of the relevant standards. General-and special purpose vehicles are ready for operations in severe winter conditions. Specialists inspected and tested the equipment used for ice melting on overhead power transmission lines. Trial ice melting was carried out in full in accordance with established schedules. The emergency reserve is 100% ready. Its storage locations ensure that equipment and materials can be delivered to potentially affected sites in the shortest time possible.

Within preparation for the severe weather events, the company participated in joint training exercises involving administrative authorities of the RF entities and the Emercom of Russia, in order to drill coordinated actions in responding to accidents and disasters that might result in loss of power supply, and in a number of emergency preparedness drills to train the staff on proper operational procedures to be followed under low temperature conditions. The branch has formed 13 mobile teams of 93 employees equipped with 38 automotive and special-purpose vehicles, necessary modern tools, personal and collective protective equipment, protective clothing. 113 standby power-supply sources with a total capacity of 2813.7 kW were tested and brought into operating readiness.
