Ulyanovsk Distribution Grids continue their effors in improving reliability of the regional power system

As part of the mid-term investment program of Ulyanovsk DG, a branch of IDGC of Volga, JSC (a member of Rosseti Group of Companies), specialists completed reconstruction of a number of sections of 110 kV Ulyanovsk-Yazykovo high-voltage transmission line with a total length of 1.4 km. These sections are the incoming lines to Urzhumskaya substation. Modernization of this high-voltage transmission line has been necessitated by the need to remove the so called “bottleneck” by replacing a small-section wire for a wire suitable for the entire line. Replacement of ĀŅ-95 wire for ĀŅ-150 wire increased the transmission capacity of the line. In addition, specialists replaced 6 old supports with two anchor supports and six reinforced-concrete poles. In addition to the increased transmission capacity, results of this investment project implemented by Ulyanovsk DG, a branch of IDGC of Volga, JSC, include improved resistance to wind and ice loads due to shorter distance between supports. It should be noted that installation and de-installation activities at the incoming sections of the power transmission line were completed online, without interruption of the power supply for consumers connected to the grid through Urzhumskaya substation. The result is the increased reliability of the power supply for industrial and residential consumers at both the western areas of the region and in the central city of the region.
