Moscow, October 2, 2018 – ALROSA, the world's largest diamond mining company, has sold special size rough diamonds (over 10.8 carats) at an auction in Hong Kong, receiving $10.7 million in sales revenue.
The company sold 136 gem-quality diamonds with a total weight of 2,234 carats, including 25 fancy yellow stones, weighing 440 carats in total. 54 companies from Hong Kong, mainland China, Belgium, Israel and India took part in the auction.

“This year’s last diamond auction in Hong Kong was held simultaneously with the Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair. During the last auction, we sold not only rough diamonds of standard color, but also rare fancy yellow stones, which are particularly popular in the market,” Evgeny Agureev, the Member of the Executive committee, Director of the USO ALROSA, commented on the results.

In 2018, ALROSA held three auctions, including this one in September. Since the beginning of the year, the company has sold over 5,500 carats of diamonds for a total amount of about $35 million.
