Employees of Ulyanovsk Distribution Grids, a branch of IDGC of Volga, JSC (a member of Rosseti Group of Companies), completed repair activities at the Mirnaya Substation located in the Cherdaklinskiy district. As part of implementing the annual repair program and preparation of equipment for operations during the winter period, employees of the Substation Service of the Dimitrovgradskiy Production Department completed repair works on two 10 MVA power transformers, T-1 and Ò-2, including corrosion protection of metal structures and equipment, replacement of silica gel in dehydrating filter breathers, repair of oil receivers. For one of power transformers, specialist replaced 110 kV oil-filled transformer bushings for state-of-the-art polymeric bushings with RIP insulation. This excludes the necessity of regular monitoring of the level and quality of transformer oil during operation of such equipment.

Besides, specialists replaced rigid insulators for two 110 kV isolating switches and two 110 kV disconnecting switches. They also replaced 110 kV arresters for overvoltage suppressors. As opposed to arresters, overvoltage suppressors provide enhanced protection for power equipment against atmospheric and switching overvoltages, have compact design and are easy to operate.

Successful implementation of planned activities made it possible to improve reliability of power supply for residents of Mirny settlement and a number of major industrial enterprises with participation of foreign investors operating in the Zavolzhie industrial region. Among such businesses are DMG MORI machine-tool plant, BRIDGESTONE Tyre Manufacturing Plant, FM-Logistic warehouse complex, MARS Russia, Efes brewery, etc.

In 2016, employees of Ulyanovsk Distribution Grids branch completed repair operations at thirty-tree 35-110 kV substations across the region.
