Effective on April 17 at 2:00 p.m., AO MOSENERGO restricted electricity supply to 13 power substations at four main railroads of the Moscow Railway Company, MZhD. This is in response to a critical situation with MZhD's payments for MOSENERGO services, a statutory sanction that is part of a standard electricity supply agreement.
In total, various MZhD branches failed to pay 96.3 million rubles for AO MOSENERGO services. The bulk of the debt emerged in February-August last year. However, up to the present time, the MZhD management has not only failed to propose a restructuring and payment scheme, but also refused to fix the debt amount. To avoid emergencies and the loss of equipment at MZhD, AO MOSENERGO officially warned the MZhD management of the upcoming restriction of power supply in accordance with regulations that extend to these procedures. According to Aleksandr Remezov, General Director of AO MOSENERGO, the electrical supply to MZhD will be restricted until MZhD proposes solutions regarding debt payment.
