A working meeting between Alexey Miller, Gazprom’s Management Committee Chairman, and Mintimer Shaimiev, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, was held today at Gazprom’s Headquarters.
The parties discussed possibilities for pumping additional gas volumes to Tatarstan’s consumers and for Gazprom’s participation in a range of projects related to gas and petrochemical production in the Republic. The parties also addressed the issue of payments for current gas deliveries as well as pointed out high gas volumes delivered to Tatarstan.

In 2003 Gazprom delivered some 14.14 bcm of gas (101.1% from its target plan) to Tatarstan’s consumers, including 1.82 bcm supplied by independent gas suppliers).
The Republic of Tatarstan possesses, nowadays, one of the most developed gas supply systems in Russia. Since 2001 Gazprom has laid in the Republic over 19 thousand km of gas pipelines and delivered gas to over 365 thousand apartments. Gas supplies to rural settlements and cities grew from 35.5% to 95.1% and to 99.4%, respectively.
In 2004 Gazprom plans to pump 17.3 bcm of gas to Tatarstan’s consumers, including 5.06 bcm to be supplied by independent gas suppliers.
In 2003, Tatarstan’s consumers’ payments for gas supplied accounted for 99%.
