During the last heating season AO MOSENERGO reliably supplied heat to the population and enterprises in Moscow and Moscow region.
Power specialists worked hard to prepare for the heating season. The company upgraded the equipment, conducted high-pressure testing on 2,500 kilometers of heating lines, tested twelve water-pumping stations and replaced 60 kilometers of heating lines.

In addition, AO MOSENERGO accumulated provisional reserves of solid and liquid fuel. The company separately worked to guarantee supplies of natural gas. This was especially important as they lowered limits for gas which makes for 93% of the total fuel consumed by the company. In 2000, AO MOSENERGO reached agreement with the Moscow government and Mezhregiongaz on securing additional gas limits for power industry in the third quarter of 2000.

pAll types of fuel were supplied in full due to the new system of mutual settlements between the company and fuel suppliers. The system is based on 100 percent advance payment in cash. "During the last heating season we did everything possible to prevent disruptions of heat supply to Moscow and Moscow region," Igor Goryunov, first deputy general director of AO MOSENERGO said.

The company has already started to prepare for the next heating season by conducting the scheduled repairs and accumulating provisional fuel reserves.
