One of the key areas of implementation of the concept of "Digital transformation", developed by ROSSETI PJSC, is the transition to digital substations. ROSSETI Volga company (brand of IDGC of Volga PJSC) has performed research work (R&D) on the development of standard technical solutions of 110 kV digital substation.
Engineers of ROSSETI Volga together with the specialists of National Engineering Center of Energetics JSC, FTC PJSC, ProSoft-Systems LLC, TEKVEL Development LLC and Electro-Engineering LLC have developed the basic technical solutions for the creation of a digital substation for various architectures. This research included the design of the structure of various systems of 110 kV digital substation, taking into account the layout solutions and the distribution of functions of the equipment of secondary systems. An album of standard solutions and standard files of electronic configuration of SSD format, which describe in the format of the SCL language all the elements of the substation, as well as all the functions of secondary systems and binding functions to the primary equipment.
The result of the research was 5 basic architectures of the digital substation, 3 standard SSD files that can be used for description of the equipment with the assigned functionality of the systems. In addition, recommendations for acceptance and commissioning, as well as maintenance of digital substation systems have been developed. All works on the project implementation of 110 kV digital substation are conducted on the basis of the reconstructed object, included in the investment program of the Saratov Distribution Grids branch - 110/10 kV Sazanley substation.
The project provides for the use of 110 kV switching devices with drives, remote control and telesignalization of which is organized with the help of analog-to-digital converters of discrete DMU signals. At the substation it is planned to use electromagnetic current transformers with the transfer of analog data from the current and voltage measuring transformers, as well as the installation of analog-digital AMU converters, etc. The implementation of the digital substation project will be the next step for the ROSSETI Volga company to reach a fundamentally new level of technological efficiency.
