Employees of Ulyanovsk Distribution Grids, a branch of IDGC of Volga, PJSC (a member of Rosseti Group of Companies), continue installation of electricity metering devices of new generation. As part of the investment program for this year, 933 electricity metering devices were installed in Starokulatkinsky, Veshkaimsky, Karsunsky, Ulyanovsk and Terengulsky districts. 819 of them were installed for individuals and 114 ones were installed for legal entities.

Microprocessor electronic meters are included in the system of remote measurement transmission of electricity consumption. Such system of energy registration simplifies the data collection process. All data comes directly to the electric grid company via GSM communication channels. Function of data collection from metering devices can also be exercised using mobile readers during the controller’s visit. Compared with the devices of previous generation, so-called "smart" meters have a higher accuracy class 1.0 whereas the accuracy class of their predecessors is 2.0–2.5. In addition, the system provides a multi-tariff metering of electricity consumption.

At the same time, customers do not incur any costs, equipage with metering devices is made at the expense of electric grid company. Also, within the energy metering system modernization, the employees of Ulyanovsk Distribution Grids carried out partly replacement of the inputs at residential houses.

In total, 14,425 microprocessor meters were installed in the framework of the program implementation in the territory of the Ulyanovsk region.
