MagnitogorskIron and Steel Works (MMK) was among the winners in the all-Russian "Leader of competitive procurement" category. The company was also nominated in the "Development of team potential" category.
An overview of the results of the annual award was given in Moscow at the end of October. The organizers received 220 applications this year from companies from all over Russia. As a result, the title “leader of competitive procurement” as awarded to 14 companies in various categories.
The topic of the report submitted to the competition by Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works was the development of category management in the procurement service in 2019. At the centre of this approach to procurement is the delegation of authority to category managers, such that they can sign agreements and contracts within the framework of issued powers of attorney. The competition’s committee commended the achievements of the MMK procurement service, and the development of the potential of its employees.
The ‘Competitive Procurement Leader’ award is the first professional contest of its kind in the field of trade and procurement. It has been held since 2012 and brings together buyers, representatives of authorities, the media and public organizations. The purpose of the award is to draw attention to the most significant procurement projects that increase companies’ efficiency and make a significant contribution to the development of the entire market.
MMK is a regular participant and winner of the ‘Competitive Procurement Leader’ prize. Among PJSC MMK’s prizes are awards in the categories of “Economic Efficiency of Procurement Operations”, “Development and Optimization of Procurement Activities”, “Leader of Innovation in Trade and Purchasing” and “Economic Efficiency of Procurement Operations”.
