St. Petersburg, Russia; 1 November 2019¨C Lenta, (LSE, MOEX: LNTA) one of the largest retail chains in Russia, is pleased to announce the opening of its hypermarket in Saint-Petersburg in new concept.
The new store is Lenta standard hypermarket located at 118 Obvodniy channel embankment. The store has a total area of 14,180 sq.m with 7,998 sq.m of selling space and is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. A broad assortment of products of 32,500 SKUs has been selected specifically for residents of Saint-Petersburg. The store has 332 parking spaces and 36 cash registers including 14 self-checkout lanes. The property is owned by Lenta.
Product assortment of the hypermarket includes Lenta¡¯s private labels and federal product ranges alongside local produce.
The store is built and designed in new concept developed by Jos de Vries agency. The concept includes new services, such as caf¨¦ and food service. Standard layout was changed to meet different clients needs and fulfill various customer journeys.
The layout design is made for daily and weekly shopping trips as well as for popping-in, customers. All sections are connected with one another to give Lenta customers the right assortment choice with sound accent on hero categories. Fruits and vegetables, culinary and bakery, wine, fish are furnished with new store equipment to ensure attractiveness and proper presentation of the categories.
The hypermarket embraces various innovations, such as contrast and shelf lightning, self-check-outs and price checkers of latest technologies and LED screens for in-store advertising.

The new opening is Lenta¡¯s sixth hypermarket launch in 2019 and brings the total number of Lenta stores to 248 hypermarkets in 88 cities across Russia and 131 supermarkets in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Siberia, Urals and the Central region.
On November 10, 2018, a fire occurred at the Lenta hypermarket. As a result of the fire, the shopping area and some parts of the roof sustained considerable damage. The administrative and unloading areas were largely undamaged.
The store was in compliance with all regulatory requirements. The hypermarket was insured in accordance with Lenta¡¯s standard practices. The insurance covered the store building, equipment, inventory and interruption of business operations.
