The OJSC FETEC will improve rural telephone communication owing to innovative digital ATXs

The OJSC FETEC is planning to implement 46,227 numbers in Khabarovsk region in 2003 where 40,753 numbers will refer to City Telephone exchange and 5,474 numbers to village telephone exchange.

The director of Khabarovsk branch of the OJSC FETEC, Valery Romanov says that digital communication will gradually replace outdated tetragonal and coordinate electromechanical exchanges.

The OJSC FETEC plans to use original domestically produced developments such as new Russian digital ATXs in rural districts. Exchanges are developed specifically for extreme Russian climate and stand electrical supply network interruptions and sudden changes, inside temperature falls and various line exposures to irrelevant tensions, magnetic pickups etc. subscribers will be provided with a great variety of additional communication services including dial-up Internet access with speed up to 56KB.

Such digital exchanges already operate in some region areas. E.g. Russian ATXs are assempled in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Amursk, Komsomolsk, Pereyaslav, Nikolaev and Sovgavan districts.

Along with Russian ATXs the OJSC FETEC implements foreign exchanges to rural networks.SI-2000 digital ATXs (Iskratel, Slovenia) made by JV IskraUraltel (Ekaterinburg) already polular in Sakhalin and Primorye will appear in Khabarovsk region in 2004. such exchanges have already been installed in Sakhalin in Nevelsk, Kurilsk, Poronaysk, Makarov, Severo-Kurilsk, Smirny, Yuzhno-Kurilsk, Tymovsk, Uglegorsk, Nogliki and in primorsky region in Bolshoi Kamen, Kavalerovo, Vladimiro-Alexandrovskoye, Volno-Nadezhdinsk.
