Moscow. 13 January. At today’s telephone conference with the heads of RAO UES energos and power plants, the Chairman of the Management Board of RAO "UES of Russia" Anatoly Chubais said that, thanks to the readiness of the Holding’s companies for winter and responsible behavior of the energy workers, the Unified Energy System of Russia in the autumn-winter peak load period of 2002-2003 keeps functioning stably and without fail.

At the same time, the recent events demonstrate that some regions face critical situations with power supplies to the households and socially vital consumers within the competence of municipal utilities. Anatoly Chubais underlined that the workers of municipal services "are not alien to us". He also suggested that the general directors of AO-energos should provide to the municipal services all possible help in preventing and removing emergency situations at utilities.
