The new academic year for more than 600 students of the Moscow Technical College (MTS) has started with an unusual lesson – the Value of Life. It was dedicated to Svetlana Rybkina – a 2nd-year student who died in the terrorist attack at Tushino Airport. The main topics of the first lesson in the academic year were the value of a human life and the basics of safety.
In 2003, the number of full- and part-time students reached 283. Most students will study the main energy specialties – electrical and heating engineering. More than 80 students will study accounting. A total of 550 people took part in the entrance exams at MTS, a branch of AO MOSENERGO. Many of them took preparatory courses at MTS.
There are several academic programs for MTS students. They have different depths and study terms. The unique methods with developed scientific and technical bases make it possible to educate students at MTS in accordance with requirements for the modern power industry. Most MTS graduates become employees at AO MOSENERGO's branches, while others study at higher education institutions in Moscow.
