"In October 2001, AO MOSENERGO will propose to regional energy commissions of Moscow and the Moscow region to study the possibility of voltage-linked tariffs," Vladislav Nazin, deputy general director for economy of AO MOSENERGO, said at the meeting with analysts from investment companies and banks that was held on June 21.
Citing the recent announcement by Aleksandr Remezov, general director of AO MOSENERGO, concerning the tariff change in the third quarter of 2001, Vasily Nikolayev, an analyst from IK Troika Dialog, asked for a comment on the company's tariff policy.
Nazin said he had no information on the date of a new rate hike. The reason is that since the last hike only the client fees of RAO UES have grown slightly, while fuel prices and Central Bank rates have remained unchanged.
He explained that the company will ask regional energy commissions to differentiate the tariffs based on the voltage consumed by clients. In Nazin's opinion the new tariffs will be more fair.
