Power specialists of Ulyanovsk Distribution Grids, a branch of IDGC of Volga, JSC (a member of Rosseti Group of Companies), changed the internal clock of all power meters to go onto winter time. Totally, the reprogramming campaign covered over 12.5 thousand power meters installed at power facilities of the Company and its clients. Most devices were reprogrammed remotely using the automatic system for commercial accounting of power consumption which enables remote data collection and change of power meter settings. Some power meters were reprogrammed on-site using special programming equipment. First, power specialists changed the internal clock of power meters involved in commercial accounting of power consumption and electricity supply points of the wholesale power market providing readings for settlements with consumers and participants of the wholesale and retail electricity market. Power meters used for technical accounting and monitoring of equipment operability, electricity balance and consumption rate at the Company's power facilities were reprogrammed at the second stage of the time change campaign. Due to these efforts, owners of multi-rate meters will avoid any shifts of tariff zones across a 24-hour period and will be able to pay their electricity bills basing upon their preferred tariff options. This timely change of the internal clock of power meters ensured compliance with the Federal Law No. 248 "On Amending the Federal Law "On Computation of Time" dated July 21, 2014. In addition, the reprogramming campaign will eliminate any financial risks and contribute to more efficient use of the Company's equipment.
