May 7, 2008, Moscow. COMSTAR – United TeleSystems JSC (COMSTAR-UTS, LSE: CMST), the largest integrated telecom services operator in Russia and the CIS announced that OOO COMSTAR-Ukraine launched Double Play service in Odessa, providing high-speed broadband Internet access and IP TV within one package.

Beginning May 5, 2008 the users have a choice of six tariff plans to include unlimited Internet access at a rate ranging from 512 Mbit/s to 2048 Mbit/s, and television packets within IP TV service (basic and additional packages). Internet access and IP TV service is managed by the subscriber using the company web site https://www.comstar.ua or on-screen user interface displayed on TV, while both services are payable against a common bill from COMSTAR-Ukraine.
   
The subscribers shall also get a number of the following value-added services: TELEGUIDE shall announce the programs to be broadcast in the upcoming week on each channel, REMINDER shall send a reminder message notifying of the favorite movie or program to be broadcast soon, while TSTV opts to watch recorded TV programs. Besides, Double Play package includes provision of a static public IP address and STREAM-POST service, an e-mail box within stream.com.ua domain with a capacity of 50 Mb.

Double Play service is provided via an NGN-based network of COMSTAR-Ukraine.

“It's thanks to the new generation network that we have a chance to provide the subscribers with such a great choice of versatile services, and packetize them", says General Director of OOO COMSTAR-Ukraine, Vladimir Petrov. “Our next step shall be Triple Play to provide VoIP over the same NGN network. We plan to launch this type of service in Odessa as early as Q2 to Q3 2008”, Vladimir Petrov added.
