Mikhail Brylin – chief engine operator of turbine department of Pervouralskaya HPP (TGC-9 branch) became Champion of Russia of powerlifting.

The sportsman-powerman won the fourth Russian championship of powerlifting and press from lying position, that took place in Chelyabinsk. During five days nearly five hundred representatives of regions of the country competed in such exercises, as squatting with weight on the shoulders, traction of weight from standing and lying positions. Mikhail Brylin took in weight-lifting 845 kilograms and became the winner in his weight category. According to his results he was included in the combined team of Russia for participation in the forthcoming world championship. “We are sure that Mikhail’s performance will decorate the world championship and bring our team the highest medals”, - is said in the letter of the President of Powerlifting Organization of Russia Yuri Ustinov to TGC-9.

Mikhail Brylin’s title of a champion is not the only example of victories in weight-lifting kinds of sport of TGC-9 employees. For example, in 2006 chief engineer of Permskaya HPP-14 Evgeny Matasov became Champion of Russia on press from lying position in the category to 110 kg, “having taken the weight” of 312,5 kg.

Sports and sanitation direction is a component part of TGC-9 social policy. In all production subdivisions of the company there are teams of different kinds of sport, they are provided with sport equipment and corporate uniform. Employees have opportunity to go in for sport sections, aerobics groups, swimming pools. For example, athletes of Pervouralskaya HPP are customary participants of the traditional ski marathon “Europe – Asia” and track-and-field relay race on the prizes of the “Vecherny Pervouralsk” newspaper.
