Moscow, 24 January. Commenting upon the Protocol of the Russian-Bulgarian Intergovernment Commission for energy co-operation signed earlier today, member of the Management Board of RAO "UES of Russia" Andrei Trapeznikov noted:
"Today's event is an important milestone in our effort made over the past few years to arrange exports of Russian electricity to South-East Europe. We have a series of proposals from power companies in some European countries, e.g., Serbia, Macedonia, Monte-Negro, which experience a shortage of electricity. We find these proposals attractive enough. The markets in Greece and North Italy also appear quite promising.
The most important thing now is to implement these Russian-Bulgarian intergoverment agreements through specific contracts between energy companies in both countries."
