On January 12, 2011, the Russian president Dmitry Medvedev visited «Kuznechiki» Residential District, which is currently being built in the city of Podolsk (Moscow Region) as per government order of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
PIK Group is one of the major developers involved in the construction of this District.
Under the construction plan, the new Residential District «Kuznechiki» will be erected on a land plot of over 130 ha and will consist of 75 buildings for 14,680 apartments, 6 schools, 13 children’s preschools and polyclinics. «Kuznechiki» is meant to be home for approx. 14,000 families of military servants. At the moment, 40 buildings are already completed. The remaining ones will be constructed by the year-end.
Out of 75 buildings planned to be finally completed in «Kuznechiki» by the end of 2011, 28 buildings will be constructed by PIK Group. As of the end of December 2010, PIK Group already completed 16 buildings with a total area of 161,000 sqm and intends to accomplish the rest (12 buildings) by late 2011.
PIK Group involved its three production facilities: DSK-2, DSK-3 (Moscow) and 480 KZhI (Aleksin of Tula region), in the construction of «Kuznechiki» district. Out of 16 already completed buildings, 5 buildings are KOPE series, 5 buildings are KOPE-Tower-Ě (manufactured by DSK-2), 4 buildings are P-3Ě series (manufactured by DSK-3) and 2 buildings are 111Ě series (manufactured by 480 KZhI).
The Russian President Dmitry Medvedev thoroughly reviewed the master plan of «Kuznechiki» District and noted that such an unprecedented large-scale construction on behalf of the Ministry of Defense had never been conducted in Russia before. Mr. Medvedev supported the construction of residential districts such as «Kuznechiki» and said that it would be necessary to eliminate queues for flats for military servants in 2012.
