Specialists of IDGC of Volga, JSC told students about the activities of the largest interregional grid company managing power facilities in 7 regions. The freshmen were introduced to the work of the company’s Privolzhye production division and visited two sites, Vostok substation 110/6/6 KW and Communications Management Center (CMC) of IDGC of Volga, JSC. In the Communications Management Center the students could with their own eyes see the work of dispatchers and the video wall representing the region’s entire power industry, from which the networks are managed. According to the college freshmen, due to the tour they learnt a lot of interesting and important things and now understand their future work better. “Our company has now been cooperating with the Radio Engineering College for a few years, taking part in Open House Days for graduates on a permanent basis. The power industry needs young qualified personnel, and interaction with educational institutions is one of the efficient ways to solve this problem,” says Sergey Katelin, Director for Personnel Management and Organizational Design at IDGC of Volga, JSC.
