On February 22, Severstal’s blast furnace # 3 will be stopped for overhaul. During the overhaul Severstal will first use gunning for restoring and strengthening of inner lining of the blast furnace’s shaft.

Plibrika (Austria) will spray a gunning mix weighting 500 tonnes in the shaft of the furnace. The company warrants that after this procedure the furnace will remain in working order for one year.

Severstal and Plibrika have been working together on a number of other projects, including those in the blast furnace shop. Namely, Plibrika will supply technology and materials for lining of spouts of the blast furnace # 5.
