Specialists of Penzaenergo, a branch of IDGC of Volga, JSC (a member of Rosseti Group of Companies), pursue their efforts to clear rights-of-way corridors under the “Long-Term Program for Vegetation Management and Expansion of 6-110 kV Power Transmission Line Corridors in 2013-2017”. To date, Penza powermen have removed trees ans shrubs from 601.7 ha of rights-of-way corridors. Clearing operations are carried out using in-house resources (469.1 ha) and by contractors (132.6 ha). Major operations were carried out along 110 kV power transmission lines “Sursk-Gorodishche”, “Sursk-Kuznetsk 1,2”, “Kizhevatovo-Sursk”, “Zemetchino-Pashkovo”, “Pachelma-Novaya”, “Kompressornaya-Kondol” and 35 kV power transmission line “Serdobsk-Chubarovka”. In adverse weather conditions, trees and bushes growing close to rights-of-way of power transmission lines may cause operational outages affecting electric power facilities. Trees tipping over the wires may cause emergency failure of power facilities and interruption of power supplies to consumers, thus clearing of rights-of-way corridors is an important stage of preparation of Penza regional grid complex for smooth and continuous operations during the autumn-winter season.
