The Gazprom headquarters hosted today a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Company's Management Committee and Rashid Temrezov, Head of the Republic of Karachay-Cherkessia.
The parties discussed the progress with the Agreement of Cooperation. In particular, they examined the issues of the region gasification. It was noted that before the year end Gazprom would start the construction of an inter-settlement gas pipeline from Storozhevaya GDS to Pregradnaya. Besides, at the moment the Company is finishing the front-end engineering design (FEED) development as part of the inter-settlement gas pipeline construction from Karachaevsk GDS to Teberdy. The issue of the gas pipeline construction will be considered on the basis of the FEED results.
The meeting decided to construct another 10 versatile sports grounds in various regions of the Republic.
Background
The Agreement of Cooperation between Gazprom and the Republic of Karachay-Cherkessia was signed in April 2002, the Accord on Gasification – in September 2004. Both documents have no expiry date.
The gasification level in the Republic of Karachay-Cherkessia stands at 73.6 per cent (Russia's average – 63.1 per cent). From 2008 to 2011 Gazprom invested RUB 216 million in the regional gasification efforts.
