Today at the Gazprom dobycha Yamburg headquarters in Novy Urengoy Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee and Vladimir Babkin, Chairman of the Gazprom Interregional Trade Union (ITU) signed the General Collective Agreement (GCA) of Gazprom and its subsidiaries over 2010 to 2012.

The key document determining the relations between the employees and the employer in the Company came into effect on the day of celebrating the 25th anniversary of Gazprom’s leading production subsidiary, Gazprom dobycha Yamburg.

Attending the GCA signing ceremony were also: on behalf of the employer – Elena Kasyan, Head of the Personnel Management Department, Oleg Andreyev, Director General of Gazprom dobycha Yamburg and Viktor Chichelov, Director General of Gazprom transgaz Tchaikovsky; on behalf of the employees – Yury Artemyev and Kirill Bogush, Deputy Chairmen of Gazprom’s ITU, Valery Nagoga, Chairman of Gazprom Dobycha Yamburg’s trade union and Viktor Lukovkin, Chairman of Gazprom dobycha Urengoy’s trade union.

“Gazprom gives full attention to observing the socio-economic and labor rights of the Company’s personnel. Despite the global financial and economic crisis we haven’t changed our approach to securing social protection for our employees,” said Alexey Miller.

“The General Collective Agreement over 2010 to 2012 has emerged as a result of the common strategy of the Gazprom management and ITU. It enables the personnel to feel safe and to work committedly,” noted Vladimir Babkin.

Background:

The draft General Collective Agreement of Gazprom and subsidiaries over 2010 to 2012 was developed due to the expiry of the General Collective Agreement over 2007 to 2009 and approved at Gazprom’s employees conference on November 20, 2009.

The General Collective Agreement covers the employees of Gazprom and the Company’s fully-owned subsidiaries engaged in natural gas production, transportation, processing, storage and marketing, as well as the employees of the Company’s Interregional Trade Union Council, trade unions of Gazprom and its subsidiary companies.

The key objective of the General Collective Agreement is balancing the interests of the employer and the employees in the form of a social partnership and, provided there is financial capacity, granting a broader scope of guarantees, allowances and compensations to the employees than stipulated by the Russian legislation, other legal acts and the Gas Industry Agreement.
