IES-Holding’s executive vice-president being also the chief manager of “Ural Generation” division – Andrey Makarov – told the Governor of Perm Region about the results of Perm regional power facilities preparation for the winter period and about plans on generating capacities development.
Andrey Makarov stressed that “Ural Generation” division performed in full all required arrangements to provide for reliable operation in conditions of maximal winter loads. Then, Oleg Chirkunov was presented a number of IES-Holding’s projects on Perm Regional Power Industry development. Thus, in July of 2008 new power equipment providing for operating capacity increase by 85 MWt was put into operation at Perm CHPP-14. The number of projects carried out at present includes mounting of gas-turbine unit produced by Perm engine constructors (JSC “Aviadvigatel”) at Perm CHPP-13, works on reliable heat supply provision for Berezniky town in conditions of technogenic accident.
Oleg Chirkunov visited Perm CHPP-6 where on-site the Governor could see the large-scale works currently being performed at the Power Plant. At present time, in fact IES-Holding is constructing a new power plant on the site of the operating CHPP-6. The building under construction will be equipped with separate steam-and-gas unit which will provide for the power production increase by more than three times. Thanks to the usage of the “Siemens” modern equipment which meets the strict world established ecological standards, the capacity growth at CHPP-6 will be achieved without the increase of negative impact on the environment. This circumstance is absolutely important because the power plant is situated practically in the center of Perm city. This project completion is scheduled for 2010.
Also, the new boiler-house construction is completed at CHPP-6, where a new modern steam boiler out of the two planned boilers is installed. This project will allow increasing the heat capacity of the power plant by 25%.
Projects currently performed by IES-Holding at CHPP-6 are the most large-scale works in Perm city on generating equipment capacity increase. The general volume of investments planned to be allocated for the development of this plant till 2010 makes over 8,5 billions rubles.
At the end of the visit Oleg Chirkunov said: “The project on CHPP-6 reconstruction is an important part of a large-scale work on Perm Regional capacities increase. Together with power supply specialists we do our best to meet the public demand and business demand in power and heat supply. Not today’s demands but strategic ones. And today we are moving in the right direction to achieve the balance of the growing demand in power and increasing power production”.
