Ufa today hosted an expanded joint meeting dedicated to the coordination of Gazprom subsidiaries’ performance during the implementation of production and social projects at the regional level.

Chairing the meeting were Alexander Ananenkov, Deputy Chairman of Gazprom’s Management Committee and Yury Pustovgarov, Vice-Premier of the Republic of Bashkortostan.

Present at the meeting were Bogdan Budzulyak, Member of Gazprom’s Management Committee, heads and specialists from Gazprom’s core business units and subsidiaries Gazprom transgaz Ufa, Gazprom transgaz Nizhny Novgorod, Gazprom transgaz Stavropol, Gazprom transgaz Makhachkala, Gazprom transgaz Saint Petersburg, Gazprom transgaz Moscow, Gazprom transgaz Samara, Gazprom transgaz Ukhta, Gazprom transgaz Surgut, Gazprom transgaz Kazan, Gazprom transgaz Tchaikovsky, Gazprom transgaz Yekaterinburg, Gazprom transgaz Saratov, Gazprom dobycha Orenburg, Gazprom dobycha Nadym, Gazprom dobycha Urengoy, Gazprom dobycha Yamburg and others.

Opening the meeting Alexander Ananenkov delivered a speech on Russia’s energy strategy up to 2020 and for the period up to 2030. The speaker underscored that the primary goal of the national energy policy was maximally efficient utilization of natural fuel and energy resources and the energy sector potential for the purpose of promoting economic expansion and improving the living standards of the country’s population.

It was emphasized that the successful fulfillment of the commitments and tasks set in the state energy policy over the long-term created the prerequisites for accelerated development of a whole range of the Russian industry branches – in particular, the metallurgical and chemical industries as well as the machine building and construction sectors. This work is crucial for implementing the state economic policy targeting faster growth of advanced-processing products manufacture.

The speaker also noted that the energy policy was taking account of the existing disproportions in both the natural energy resource availability and the energy consumption structure in various regions. At the same time, despite all these differences, there is the need for maximal and economically efficient utilization of local fuel and energy sources across all of the regions of the Russian Federation.

The meeting participants addressed priorities of interaction between subsidiaries of Gazprom, executive authorities and leading production companies when executing the Company’s projects as part of Gazprom’s Regional Policy Conception. The focus was primarily placed on prominent gas production and transmission projected being implemented by Gazprom in a string of Russia’s constituents, the Gasification Program and the development of the inter-linked regional heat, power and gas supply systems.

The meeting resulted in the taking of decisions aimed at raising the performance efficiency of Gazprom’s subsidiaries operating in Russia’s regions.

Background:

Gazprom’s Regional Policy Conception was endorsed by the Company’s Management Committee in May 2003. The document contemplates creating a system of interaction between Gazprom and Russia’s constituents that would enable to find effective and mutually beneficial solutions to production, financial, organizational and other tasks in the course of the Company’s business activities.
