Moscow, 28 April 2006. RAO "UES of Russia" has been named Laureate of IT Leader Awards 2006 in the category "Outstanding Contribution to IT Development in Russia". The IT Leader Prize—a crystal rhombus decorated with a silver ornament which symbolizes original ideas, open intentions and innovation endeavours—was presented to Head of the IT Department of the RAO UES Corporate Center Leonid Spitsyn.

Sergey Dyatlov, IT Director at OAO "WGC-5", was named Laureate in the category "Fuel and Energy Enterprises".

The IT-Leader Awards have been presented annually since 2003 to entities and individuals that have had significant influence on the IT development in Russia and facilitated integration of the country's innovation and economic accomplishments into the global development process.
