On working meeting between Alexey Miller and Valentina Matviyenko

St. Petersburg has hosted today a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of Gazprom’s Management Committee and Valentina Matviyenko, Governor of St. Petersburg.

The parties addressed the implementation of the joint project for the construction of the St. Petersburg based Gazprom-City Business Center.

As it was underscored, after thoroughly analyzing Russian and international high-rise construction practices, the parties had so far completed a major scope of work, which included:

  • identifying preliminary technical & economic parameters;
  • initiating the legal framework shaping;
  • assessing project impacts on the urban environment;
  • determining major implementation stages;
  • compiling a preliminary list of architects and contractors.

Alexey Miller and Valentina Matviyenko highly appreciated the work done at the preparatory stage and fixed major joint businesses in a short run. A focus fell on land tenure and related construction issues subject to resolution by St. Petersburg’s authorities.

The meeting also discussed issues surrounding Gazprom’s involvement in Saint-Petersburg’s co-generation, gasification and gas supply sectors.

Reference:

First international contests for the best architectural design of the Gazprom-City Business Center and the Gazprom-Arena Football Stadium and Sporting Facility took place in St. Petersburg in November 2005.

On behalf of Gazprom the contests are organized by its subsidiary company Gazprominvestarena and on behalf of St. Petersburg – by the Committee for the Urban Development and Architecture.

The Gazprom-City Business Center is expected to be a worthy exemplar of the world’s most illustrious office architecture.
