Gazprom’s Headquarters has hosted today a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of Gazprom’s Management Committee and Zinaida Greceanii, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova.

The Moldovan side brought forward new proposals for deeper cooperation in the energy sector. In that regard, the parties achieved an accord to implement within the next quarter a plan of joint activities and to continue deliveries of Russian gas to Moldova under the terms mutually accepted in the first quarter.

In 2005 Gazprom supplied the Republic of Moldova with 2.45 bcm of gas.

The Moldovan gas debt (excluding penalty charges) to Russia amounts to around US$ 780 mln including US$ 560 mln owed by the Transdnestr Region.

From January 16, 2006 Russian gas supply to Moldova has been priced at US$ 110 per 1,000 cu m.
