Anatoly Kopsov, General Director of AO Mosenergo, held a press conference

At a press conference held in AO Mosenergo on June 30 the new General Director Anatoly Kopsov spoke about the company’s prospects of development and future guidelines. Journalists were introduced to the priorities of AO Mosenergo’s current activity and its program of technical modernization. AO Mosenergo’s management has recently modified its strategic priorities in regard of production capacities and strengthening fail-safety of the power system of the capital. Modernization of the generating capacities and application of the latest technologies was designated task number one.

Preparation of AO Mosenergo branches to the cold season is going as planned. Overhaul of power equipment is following the schedule, fuel store is at 119 percent of the planned volume, masut store at 104 percent.

Speaking about the facilities’ upgrade, the new head of the company stressed that AO Mosenergo is planning to raise around 15 billion rubles as investment and bank loans for financing generating capacities. «These funds will allow us to put in operation, starting from 2008, some 400 or 500 megawatts of new capacities annually», said Anatoly Kopsov.

Today the steam-and-gas combined cycle turbine, designed for the city of Elektrostal, is being manufactured in Ekaterinburg under an order of AO Mosenergo, within the framework of the company’s modernization. Projects of furnishment upgrade at GES-1 and TEC-21 are under way; a new combined cycle turbine will be installed at TEC-27.
