Severstal exhibited a large number of items at Arkhimed 2002 International Exhibition of Industrial Property which is held March 27-31 in Moscow. The number of items exhibited by Severstal exceeds not only that of other Russian steel making companies but also some international participants.

Severstal brought 29 items to the exhibit, which are company's inventions in ecology, technology of rolled steel production, equipment and quality control devices. Twenty of them are already licensed as inventions, the rest are recent projects.

Severstal exhibited working models, mock ups and drawings of three inventions developed together with Russian scientists. These inventions already received gold medals at the 50th international innovation fair Eureka-2001 (Brussels, Belgium).

Exhibition managers found Severstal exhibit the most extensive and diverse not only in the Metallurgy and Metal Processing section where Nosta and Novoplipetsk Steel mill presented its innovations but on the whole.

Alexander Stepanov, Severstal's technical director, stressed that exhibition gives an opportunity "to develop and expand partnerships with other steel making companies in discovering technologies, which are of interest to us and which we can apply. Besides, we are interested in selling licenses for our own inventions to other companies and firms, interested in buying our intellectual property."

The exhibit was held with aid of Ministry of Industries, Sciences and Technologies, Ministry of Defense, Department of Science and Industrial Policy of the Moscow government, Russian Patents and Trade Marks Agency, Soyuzpatent, Russian Academy of Sciences, Russian Science and Technology Information Center, scientific company Tehnopark Vostok, Association of Power Engineers, and publishing house Technica Molodyozhi.

The owners of inventions which is found interesting can expect valuable prizes, medals, and diplomas given by Ministry of Industries, Sciences and Technologies, Rospatent as well as by world invention fairs in the US, Japan, Yugoslavia, Bulgaria and Korea.

Arkhimed 2002 presents almost a 1,000 items of 350 participants - companies from various industries from 40 Russian region, the European union, Japan and the US.
