Severstal took 13^th place in theTop-100 rating of Russian exporters, done by Expert Magazine Rating Agency.
   Severstal took first place in several individual nominations. For example, in the nomination - Exporter with the highest number of foreign customers - Severstal was named the leader the second year in a row. Severstal surpassed the next ranking company by a factor of three. Experts said, in spite of the drop in export sales in 2001, Severstal had 735 international clients, which is a remarkable figure.
   Severstal was a leader in another nomination - Exporter with the most extensive geography of export trade. In 2001, Severstal sold products to 98 countries, exceeding other companies in the rating. Additionally, Severstal also ranked second in the nomination -Twenty companies- exporters with the highest number of export deliveries.
   Some other companies of the Severstal-group took leading positions in the rating. For example, Kuzbassugol coal mining company, part of the raw materials division of the Severstal-group, took 13^th place in the nomination - Twenty most dynamic companies-exporters. The companies export sales in 2001 grew by 73.82%.
   The rating of Russian exporters was first done in 2000. Having in mind the peculiarities of Russian economy and its dependence on export markets, DHL International and Expert Rating Agency decided to publish the rating of top-100 Russian exporters annually.
   The goal of the rating was to obtain complete information on the current situation and development perspectives of the Russian exporters, which influence largely Russia's economic growth. One of the main rating criteria was the volume of company's exports sales in 2001. Only those companies who had their own production facilities could take part in the rating. After preliminary research 150 Russian companies were selected for the final rating. At the end a 100 Russian largest exporters were listed. They had a 60% share of Russian export trade. The companies which took leading positions in the rating will be given special awards.
