2 000 000th card with Europay International logo has been issued in Russia.

Sberbank has been a full member of the international payment system Europay International since 1993. On November, 2000 Sberbank has undertaken functions of the settlement agent in relation to Russian domestic payments. Correspondent accounts have been opened for 29 participating banks.

The Bank actively develops its acquiring network for servicing international cards throughout Russia and offers to private and corporate clients Eurocard/MasterCard Mass, Gold, Business and Maestro cards. Today Sberbank has installed more than 360 ATMs (15% of the market) and about 2500 terminals (15% of the market) which accept cards of Europay International in 415 settlements in 63 regions of Russia.

As a result of the merger the regional banks will be able to participate in more significant investment projects and programmes of economical development in their respective regions.

Sberbank has modern high-capacity processing center in Moscow. Last year about 10 mln. transactions with international cards were processed by the Center. Sberbank has also its processing center in St.-Petersburg which processed 4 mln. transactions. Processing.facilities of Sberbank are available to other Russian banks for international cards settlements.
