Mounting of the 250-MW integrated simulator unit has started at the personnel-training center at HPP-21, the plant's director Yu. Guskov announced today. The simulator will be used to teach operational personnel how to work at 250 MW power units and to retrain people in preventing and neutralizing emergencies. The simulator will be used for conducting the training of 250-MW power unit machine operators, senior operators and monitoring operators. Furthermore, the facility may be used for the training of other Russian energy-system operators.

MOSENERGO subsidiary Trelex JSC developed the simulator. Other subsidiaries such as OZAP mounted the simulator and MTsPK fine tuned the unit and established the interface between its analogue part and digital model.

The simulator personnel-training center at HPP-21 functions as a structural component of the MOSENERGO Moscow personnel retraining center. The simulator will be integrated into the training process in October 2001. "The increase of personnel qualification through using the 250 MW unit simulator will help ensure the stable power supply to customers," said Guskov.
