According to Andrei Novikov, head of the technical department of Heating Grids at AO MOSENERGO, next year AO MOSENERGO will launch the production of new pipes insulated with foam polyurethane and used in the construction of heating grids. The pipes will be produced at Mosteplosyetenergoremont, a branch of AO MOSENERGO, he said.
The production volume will completely meet AO MOSENERGO's demand in pipes that are used to replace worn-out lines and build new ones, said Novikov. “We will produce as many pipes as the growing city needs,” he stressed. The plant will annually produce 100-120 km of pipe.
Each year AO MOSENERGO has to replace 73-75 km of pipe. In addition, about 40 km are annually laid in newly built districts of Moscow. The heating grids that employ the new technologies are built in new Moscow districts-Butovo and Maryino.
The use of foam polyurethane in pipe production helps to reduce repair costs and guarantee that heating grids stay in service for up to 50 years (presently life-time is about 15 years), as well as to significantly reduce heat loss. The use of the new technology will make it possible to abandon the practice of switching of the hot water supply during summer for maintenance purposes.
