ALROSA sells large diamonds for $14.5 mln at the auction in Israel

Moscow, May 31, 2018 - ALROSA, the world's largest diamond producer, has sold special size rough diamonds (weighing over 10.8 carats) at the auction in Israel, having received $14.5 million revenue from sales.

The company has sold 112 gem-quality lots with a total weight of 1824 carats. Firms from Israel, Belgium, India, USA and UAE participated in the auction.

“This year’s third auction in Israel has concluded with good results and a significant excess of the starting price. More than 100 firms from major centers of rough and polished market took part in it. We saw traditionally high interest from Israeli companies, which are specializing on this category of rough diamonds,” Evgeny Agureev, the Member of the Executive committee, Director of the USO ALROSA, commented on the results.

Until the end of 2018, ALROSA plans to hold three more auctions at the Israeli site in Ramat Gan, one of them will be held simultaneously with the Jovella jewelry exhibition in June. In accordance with Russian law, special size rough diamonds over 10.8 carats can be realized only through auctions.
