Mobile TeleSystems cancels the dealership agreement with MCC-Start

Moscow, Russian Federation — 8th December 2000 — Mobile TeleSystems OJSC (NYSE: MBT), Russia’s largest GSM 900/1800 mobile operator, today gave an official notice to the commercial representative MCC-Start CSJC, operating under the trade mark Mobile Center, about the cancellation of the contract between the two companies due to the breach of the contract by MCC-Start.

MTS management does not expect this action to have any effect on the Company’s sales volume, since Mobile Center’s average share comprises less than 1,5% in MTS monthly gross sales.
