15 April, 1998 - LUKOIL has founded a new magazine, Oil of Russia, the presentation of which has been held in Moscow. It is Russia's only English-language magazine highlighting LUKOIL's performance and the situation in the Russian oil industry as a whole.
The main goal of this new edition is to acquaint the foreign reader with LUKOIL's production, financial and economic activity, its strategic plans and development forecasts, and with the current state and the future prospects of the Russian oil and gas industry. The magazine will provide foreign investors and shareholders with objective and exclusive information. The emergence of this English-language magazine reflects LUKOIL's active involvement in international projects implemented jointly with 28 near- and far-abroad states.
The magazine will regularly carry articles by LUKOIL President Vagit Alekperov, and by the company's vice-presidents and managers.
LUKOIL also runs Russian-language magazines, Neft Rossii (Oil of Russia) and Sotsialnoye Partnyorstvo (Social Partnership).
The Neft Rossii (issued since 1994) is a leading Russian magazine which highlights problems of the Russian oil and gas complex. The Oil of Russia and Neft Rossii are independent editions which do not duplicate one another.
The quarterly Sotsialnoye Partnyorstvo, circulated since 1998, deals with relations between employees and employers, social problems and labor unions. There are plans to publish it in English, as well.
The publishers hope that the Oil of Russia magazine, given its staff's professionalism and its authors' high authority, will gain the reputation of a serious edition which will back up the image of LUKOIL as a stable and open oil company.
