Rosseti presents charging infrastructure development plans at the AutoInvest Conference

Participants of the Electomobile Transport Roundtable Discussion, which took place on February 26, 2016 at the 10th AutoInvest Conference, noted the contribution of Lenenergo PJSC (part of Rosseti Group) to creating a charging infrastructure for electric cars in St. Petersburg.

Yana Ryabokuchma, Deputy Head of the Department for Technological Development and Innovation at Lenenergo PJSC, said in her presentation that creation of a network of electric car charging facilities in St. Petersburg is part of the All-Russian Program for the Development of Charging Infrastructure for Electric Transport, being implemented by Rosseti PJSC. Two charging stations have been opened in St. Petersburg: at Pulkovo Airport and Galerea TEC.

The participants of the roundtable discussion “Electromobile Transport: User Experience and Development Prospects” have specifically noted the efforts of Rosseti PJSC to create charging infrastructure. In particular, Director of the Energy Saving Center Evgeny Baranovsky said that the St. Petersburg Electrical Grid Company has become a locomotive for the development of electric transport in Russia’s northern capital.

Lenenergo also presented its concept for an electric car charging station at the AutoInvest Forum.

The All-Russian Program for the Development of Charging Infrastructure for Electric Transport, which is being implemented by Rosseti PJSC, envisions the creation of a network of charging stations for public and private transport, first in key regions, and then across the country. The top-priority directions of this program include the creation of conditions for the development electric public transport and creation of charging infrastructure for corporate vehicle fleets.

Subsidiary companies of Rosseti PJSC, including Lenenergo, have been planning to replace corporate vehicles with internal combustion engines with electric vehicles before 2020, in due consideration of the planned load on charging-infrastructure facilities. Development of electric transport will allow the Rosseti Group of Companies to decrease vehicle operation costs, and to improve ecological and economic effect indicators for the regions while improving energy efficiency.
