Samara DG, a branch of IDGC of Volga, PJSC (a member of Rosseti Group of Companies) commenced repair operations at the 110/6 kV Yuzhnaya substation located in the Kuybyshevskiy district of Samara. End-to-end upgrade of this main source of electricity for one of the largest Samara districts will contribute to enhanced reliability of power supply for the existing customers, including socially significant facilities, Tram and Trolley-bus Municipal Authority, and large shopping malls. Repair operations at this power facility are carried out on live equipment, without disconnecting electricity supply to any consumer. Repair activities at the 110/6 kV Yuzhnaya substation are carried out as part of the annual repair program. Activities scheduled for next 8 months include repair of transformers with the capacity of 16 ÌÂÀeach, auxiliary transformers, two 6 kV busbar sections, 26 circuit breakers (6 kV), 6 high-voltage bushings (110 kV), disconnecting switches, oil receivers and other equipment of indoor and outdoor switchgear. Specialists will also repair the main control cabinet. All repair works are carried out on a non-contracted basis. As planned, repair activities will last until this August. The 110/6 kV Yuzhnaya substation was built in 1966. The repair program is aimed to provide enhanced operational reliability of the substation and uninterrupted power supply for residential and industrial customers in Kuybyshevskiy and Volzhskiy districts of Samara, including such heavy consumes as METRO Shopping Mall, Samara Electromechanical Plant and Samara Utility Systems Company.
