Summaruzing of preparing of branches of IDGC of Volga, PJSC for the 2015/2016 autumn-winter season

Power engineers of IDGC of Volga, PJSC (a member of Rosseti Group), which area of responsibility amounts to 7 RF regions with the total area of 403 thousand square kilometer (about 13 million people) completed the process of preparing for the autumn-winter season. From 21 to 25 of September, 2015, special commissions comprising of regional representatives of Rostekhnadzor, of the Central Office of EMERCOM of Russia, branches of SO UPS, JSC and regional relevant ministries were assessing the readiness of seven branches of IDGC of Volga, PJSC for operation in the 2015/2016 autumn-winter season. As part of preparations for the autumn-winter operations, repair programs were implemented and works on bringing power transmission line rights-of-way to conformity with applicable regulatory requirements were executed to ensure reliable and uninterrupted operation of the power grid complex of IDGC of Volga, PJSC; joint training was arranged involving administrative authorities of the RF entities and the EMERCOM of Russia, in order to drill coordinated actions in responding to accidents and disasters that might result in loss of power supply, and in a number of emergency response drills to train the staff on proper operational procedures to be followed under low temperature conditions. In addition, specialists of branches completed the process of preparing of general-and special purpose vehicles for operations in severe winter conditions, they formed 62 mobile teams of 473 employees equipped with modern tools, personal and collective protective equipment, protective clothing. 212 special-purpose vehicles are readily available. 111 units of backup sources of power with a capacity of more than 30 kW were inspected and prepared for operation during accident response operations; the emergency reserve is 100% ready with its storage locations to ensure delivery of equipment and materials to potentially affected sites in the shortest time possible. Power engineers inspected and tested the equipment used for ice melting on overhead power transmission lines in full and in accordance with predetermined schedules. In the course of their activity members of regional commissions noted that all measures on preparing for operations during the autumn and winter season were fully implemented in the following branches of IDGC of Volga, PJSC, Saratov DG, Samara DG, Ulyanovsk DG, Orenburgenergo, Penzaenergo, Mordovenergo and Chuvashenergo. The findings of commissions were documented in Inspection Certificates confirming preparedness for operations in the 2015/2016 autumn and winter season, which were signed without any comments.
