Moscow, August 31, 2004. The head of CenterTelecom Telecom Operations Department Nikolay Khrenov announced that the process of coordination of the plan to assign additional channel capacities to the areas where the capacity has been insufficient has been finalized.
As Nikolay Khrenov pointed out, in 1H 2004 practically all CenterTelecom automatic long-distance telephone exchanges (AMTS) received additional trunk channels to main Rostelecom automatic switching centers. As a result, the percentage of incomplete calls to the main destinations has considerably decreased and does not exercise a significant influence on the outgoing traffic. Insufficient capacity has been detected only for calls to Moscow during peak hours in Voronezh, Vladimir, Orel and Moscow branches. Generally in the company only 5 % of long-distance calls did not go through during peak hours in excess of 3 %. Last year this figure totaled 7.52 %.
"Additional channels to Moscow for Voronezh, Vladimir, Orel and Moscow branches as well as additional channels to automatic switching centers for 7 branches will be provided before November 2004 ," – he said.
