Gazprom set up the Department for Maintenance and Repair to be headed by Alexander Filatov.

The Department will become an integrated center responsible for planning and organizing extensive repairs of Gazprom’s facilities with a view to further improve the efficiency of these processes. The main objectives of the Department are as follows: comprehensively evaluating the technical condition of facilities, optimizing the preparation of design and estimate documents, planning and organizing extensive repairs in accordance with safety and security priorities, implementing a unified technical policy for applied equipment and production technology.

In addition, the Department will deal with relevant competitive acquisitions, monitor the procurement process and control expenditures on extensive repairs.

The Department for Maintenance and Repair is supervised by Vitaly Markelov, Deputy Chairman of Gazprom’s Management Committee.

Background

Alexander Filatov was born in 1966 in the Orenburg Region. In 1991 he graduated from Orenburg Polytechnic Institute, majoring in Industrial and Civil Engineering. In 2009 he received his second university degree with the Orenburg branch of Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas, majoring in Oil and Gas Processing Equipment.

Alexander Filatov has served at Gazprom Group for 13 years.

Between 2000 and 2007 he worked at Gazprom Dobycha Orenburg, occupying the positions from the Deputy Head of the Division for Construction Quality, Projects and Estimates Control up to the Head of the Capital Construction Directorate.

Between 2007 and 2008 – Deputy Director General for Capital Construction and Reconstruction at Tsentrenergogaz.

Between 2008 and 2009 – Director General of Podvodgazenegoservis.

Between 2009 and 2012 – Director General of Orgenergogaz. From 2010 he simultaneously occupied the position of Deputy Director General for Capital Construction and Reconstruction at Gazprom Tsentrremont.
